Hello & Thank You for visiting the personal Online Portfolio for Anthony “MeatLoaf” Benavides.

I was born August 12th, 1978 and was raised in the Downriver communities of Michigan. I graduated from Carlson High School, Class of 1997. After high school I attended 2 semesters at Monroe Community College and wasn’t sure of my career path.  Then I started work as a general laborer for multiple construction & demolition companies. This continued for a few years. And eventually I found interest in a career in Lawn Irrigation.  Being a “Sprinkler Guy” was Great Work, but living in Michigan it was seasonal which required being laid off during the winter months. My last year in lawn irrigation started in 2003 at the age of 24 when childhood pal Rich Fisher offer me the opportunity to learn how to Pierce. Rich was planning on buying out a existent Tattoo Shop and renaming it to Division Tattoo. This was not a Dream, but my Future becoming a Reality! Honestly, my apprenticeship was short and only lasted a couple of months before Rich official open the doors to Division Tattoo. Where I would become the shops Body Piercer. As I young artist I knew I had to understand proper ethics & safety if I was going to make a career out of this. Right from the start I was being consumed with information that would ultimately take control of me. This had become more than just a job but a Way of Life. Everyday more & more, I had such a passion for the Body Modification Industry.

Since then I have taken my career across the country. Working multiple conventions, several guest spots & in 2007 relocating to California. This was a Great Opportunity & Worthy Experience for my career. But after 3 years I felt a little home sick & returned back to Michigan. Here I now have a better opportunity to be on the road working Conventions & doing Guest Spots through out the country. With still having a chance to see my friends & family.

I am very Thankful for what I’ve had the opportunity to Experience & Endure living the Life as an Artist. I am Very Grateful for the Thousands of people that entrusted in me to perform their Body Piercings. I would like to Thank Each & Every Artist I had the Joy to work along side of! And Thank You to the Studio’s that let me just do my thing! And all those that have inspired me to become the Professional Artist I am today! Without any of this & all of you….. I’d just be a ”Sprinkler Guy”
